Sierra Dawn Mattson, 25, of Wheeling WV, passed away tragically on Saturday, November 23 from a car accident. “Pookie” was cherished and adored by her parents Kelly and Randy Mattson of Center Township, Butler, PA.
Sierra was a loving mother to her 3-year-old daughter Piper June. She could not wait to be Piper’s mommy and loved her little “Pickle” beyond words! Bright and so beautiful, and always smiling, Sierra brought sunshine to those she touched; even on the darkest days. Sierra was very determined. Friends remember her as one of the strongest and fearless people they ever met. She graduated a full year early from Wheeling Park High School and was awarded a full scholarship to West Liberty University in West Virginia where she earned her teaching degree. Sierra loved teaching. It was her passion! The past 4 years she taught at Ohio County Schools near Wheeling where she specialized in elementary education and specialized math. Her students will miss her dearly. Sierra was full of energy, embraced healthiness and loved the outdoors. She especially enjoyed sharing love and laughter with her friends and family!
Sierra was taken much too soon. Her bright and smiling soul lives on in her beautiful little girl and forever within the hearts of those who loved her!
Friends received for a celebration of Sierra’s Life on Saturday, November 30th from 1-3pm in the funeral home.
