Robert L. Ellenberger, 84, of Butler, passed away on Friday Jan. 29, 2021 at home surrounded by family, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Born in Butler on Aug. 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Camden and Dorothy (Kildoo) Ellenberger. He graduated from Butler, then attended Arlington Baptist Seminary in Texas, and BC3 school of Nursing. He was an inspector at Magnetics for 42 years and operated a greenhouse business for many years. Robert was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord, his family, animals, and flowers. He married the love of his life, Marlene (Brown), on Aug. 29, 1958. The couple celebrated 53 years of marriage before Marlene’s passing Oct. 31, 2011. Together Robert and Marlene had 4 sons, the late James (Michelle), David (fiancé Dana Frances), Donald (Nicolette), and Robert (Sherry) Ellenberger. They were blessed with 5 grandchildren: Justin, Jesse, Jason, Timothy, and Rachel. Robert is also survived by a brother, Charles. In addition to his parents, wife and son, he was preceded in death by brothers George and Raymond. Arrangements through the Spencer D. Geibel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 140 New Castle Rd.
