Evelyn Stutz Obituary

Evelyn F. Stutz, 76, of East Butler went into God's loving arms on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 surrounded by her adoring family.

Born on September 1, 1945, in Sutersville, PA. Evie was the daughter of the late Frances and Frederick Nicklas. She graduated from Evans City High School and was employed by Magnetics in East Butler for 34 years. Evie was devoted to God and her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Clare of Assisi (formerly St. Wendelin) in Butler.

On June 19, 1965 she married the love of her life, John H. Stutz. They spent their years together enjoying square dancing, gardening, camping, traveling, playing cards, and countless other activities. For 56 years they loved, adored, and supported each other, without exception and very rarely spending a moment apart.

Evie's greatest accomplishment was her family. She was a loving mother to 5 children: John (Sue) Stutz Jr., Mark (Cindy) Stutz, Renae (Paul) Hack, Matthew (Joy) Stutz, and Jennifer Stutz. Additionally, she was grandmother to 17 grandchildren of whom she was exceptionally proud of: Michael Stutz, Jarod (Tiffany) Hack, John Stutz, Colby Chritzman, Joshua Stutz, Jacob (Catelynn) Stutz, Zachary Hack, Cara Chritzman, Joel Stutz, Jace Stutz, Nicholas Stutz, Christian Chritzman, Nathan Stutz, Hannah Stutz, Jordan Stutz, Callie Chritzman, and Eva Sue Stutz, and great grandmother to Norvin Chritzman and Waylon Hack, with 2 more on the way.

Evie cherished her family and dedicated her life to bringing them together. Every holiday you would find her in the kitchen preparing enough food to feed a small army, with more than enough for anyone that walked through the door. She created a beautiful home that she took pride in, where the door was always open and the love was bountiful. If she wasn't tending to her flower beds, cheering on her favorite Pittsburgh sports teams, or preparing the world's best cinnamon rolls, you could find her at one of her grandchildren's sporting events - always the biggest fan in the crowd.

In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, she is survived by her mother-in-law, Margaret Stutz, her siblings, Nancy Knox, Patricia Pizer, Roger Nicklas, and Virginia Ortman, along with countless other family members and friends who cherished her and will miss her tremendously.

Friends and family will be received from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM on Thursday, January 13th at the SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001 WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 PM on Friday, January 14th at St. Clare of Assisi (formerly St. Wendelin) 210 St. Wendelin Rd., Butler, PA 16002. Burial will be held privately.
