Delmar "Del" Simpson Obituary

Delmar “Del” Simpson, 79, of Highfield passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021. He was born in Ellis, KS on March 9, 1942 to the late Charles and Luella Simpson. Delmar retired from the US Navy after 20 years of honorable service to his country. He then worked at ODECO handling offshore drilling for over 10 years and for Siemans and ATS for numerous decades. Throughout these years he found time to volunteer at Highfield Hall for over four decades, as well as holding offices on their board. Along with having an unending passion to work and staying busy, he was the most beloved and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He might have been known to his family as “Grumpy Grandpa”, but he would go to the end of the world for his loved ones. He was the devoted husband of Marie “Elaine” Simpson for over 55 years; beloved father of Donald (Mary) Simpson and Christine (Carlton) Conley Sr; brother of Janice Reading and Nora Jennings. He is also survived by his grandchildren Keith Simpson, Breann (Matt) Pfeifer, and Ryan Christy, and great granddaughter Hannah Marie Pfeifer. Delmar was preceded in death by his sister Elva Simpson. Friends will be received on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 1-3pm in the SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD, BUTLER, PA 16001, WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM.
