Darrell Hays Sr.

Darrell Hays Sr., 67, of Butler passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021. He was born in Butler on December 30, 1953 to the late George and Lottie (Skal) Hays. Darrell enjoyed fishing, deer spotting, music, and singing, but his favorite pastime was spending time around the local airport watching the takeoffs, landings, and interacting with the pilots and plane owners. Above all else he loved his family and friends. He was known to always add love and laughter to a room. Nothing made him happier than being with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He was loved and will be forever missed. Darrell was the beloved husband of Cheryl (Pickerd) Hays for over 45 years; loving father of Tamara (Michael) Finucan, Taryn (Josh) Hays, and Darrell (Samantha) Hays Jr., and grandfather of Mason, Zarian, Teegan, Brogan, Lowen, and Reilynn. He is also survived by 7 siblings and his closest friends Dave & Darla Snyder. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Shirley Pickerd and his siblings William Hays and Carol Wiles.
